Located in Kakamega town closer to Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).
Bhukhungu Stadium is one of the landmarks in Kakamega town with only phase completed. The characteristic advantage is that it is a lush, well- drained stadium mainly used for soccer and a number of social events. The stadium’s VIP area has been fitted with modern seats with a media centre. It is proof that with political goodwill, counties can come up with proper facilities even with a modest budget. The stadium has conference halls, halls for indoor games, offices, changing rooms for home and visiting teams that are fully furnished to international standards, and changingrooms for referees with a total of 13 entry and exit points.
The stadium has been used for international football matches such as one between AFC Leopards and Al Ahly of Egypt. AFC Leopards has a strong following in Kakamega County.
